Tax Parameter


Tax Parameter contains all parameters used in payroll process, such as Year, Maximum Number of Dependent, Job Title Percentage, Individual PTKP, and many more. This function is rarely edited, it is usually defined at the beginning only, because all data needed to be completed are the standard value which is remained rules of a company or government.

To access this menu, go to Setting > Payroll Setting > Tax Parameter, then the following page will appear.

Tax Parameter

If user opens this page for the first time, then all data fields will look empty. In the example above, some fields have been filled with data inputted before. All the fields must be filled with numbers, except for the year option. Before submitting the parameter, complete or edit the following information (information marked with (*) is required):
  1. Year (*): Choose the year of the payroll period. Select “Apply to Next Year” checkbox to apply the same parameter of the selected year to the next year. 
  2. Income Annualized Method (*):Choose the annualized method to calculate the salary. There are 2 options here:
    • Average: The following salary calculation will be averaged. For example, the first month salary is 1 million, and second month is 2 millions. The salary calculation of yearly average is 18 millions.
    • Current: The current salary will be taken for the salary calculation.
  3. Income Annualized Method (Company):Choose the annualized method by company to calculate the salary. There are 3 options here:
    • None: Choose this if user do not want to use the annualized method by company to calculate the salary.
    • Average: The following salary calculation will be averaged.
    • Current: The current salary will be taken for the salary calculation.
  4. Job Title Percentage (*): Input the percentage used in calculating the cost of job title.
  5. Maximum Job Title Cost (*): Input the maximum cost of job title.
  6. Individual PTKP (*): Input the total of free tax per individual in a year. 
  7. Spouse PTKP (*): Input the total of free tax per employee’s spouse in a year.
  8. Dependent PTKP (*):Input the total of free tax per individual’s dependent in a year.
  9. Maximum Number of Dependent (*): Total of maximum dependent allowed in taxed income calculation.
  10. Enable Tax Minus Before End Period: If it is selected, then minus tax calculation will be displayed by minus (-). Otherwise, the minus tax calculation will be displayed by zero (0).
  11. Tax Penalty Percentage (*): It is the percentage of tax penalty calculation that will be charged to the employee with no NPWP.
  12. Enable Tax Penalty Refund: If it is selected, then it means that if the employee has ever been charged by the tax penalty, there will be refund of that tax penalty in the following day.
  13. Tax Penalty Gross Up: If it use selected, then the tax calculation of employee with no NPWP will be grossed up accoeding to Tax Penaly Percentage.
  14. Severance:Severance for Severance or Pension part will appear for Thailand. This part consists of 3 components of configuration which are:



    • Max Exempted Income: It is the income value when pension, which is not taxed.
    • First Part of Expense Value 1: It is the value of pension tax deduction, which is usually 7000 Baht.
    • First Part of Expense Value 2: It is the value of pension tax deduction, which is usually 3500 Baht. 
  15. Use YTD Taxable Income for Insurance Agent: If set "Yes", then the tax calculation follows the "Insurance Agent" tax type. The tax value can be seen in the menu of Payroll History Report and Tax Receipt Non Final. Calculation of Insurance Agent using PTKP every month:

    • If the employee has an NPWP, the multiplier is only a percentage of tax in SettingsPayroll SettingTax Percentage.
    • If the employee does not have NPWP, then the multiplier is the tax percentage in SettingsPayroll SettingTax Percentage and 120% of the PPH21.
    • Calculation of Insurance Agent does not increase / decrease the salary component with the "Pension" class
  16. Use Tax Final for KPP Movement:Tick "Yes" to use tax final calculation for KPP movement.
  17. Enable Change Tax Type in one month:Tick "Yes" if user want to change tax type in one month
  18. Enable Tax Borne by Gov.:Tick "Yes" to enable tax borne by government. Then, the "Tax Borne Applicable for", "Max Annualized Fixed Gross Income", and "Enable Tax ytd result less than Tax Borne by Gov." fields will appear.
  19. Tax Borne Applicable for:Determine when the tax will be borne by the government by choosing the month(s) on the box provided.
  20. Max Annualized Fixed Gross Income:Type the max annualized fixed gross income on the box provided.
  21. Enable Tax ytd result less than Tax Borne by Gov.: The incentive that has been reported to government cannot be refunded based on PMK 23. Thereby, for resignee the tax form 1721 will not be finalized. So, user can tick 'Yes' on this field to finalize the year to date tax.

Click Submit to save the data of tax parameter setting.

Tax Parameter for SunFish Philippines


To access this menu, go to Setting > Payroll Setting > Tax Parameter, then the following page will appear.

Tax Parameter

Before submitting the parameter, complete or edit the following information (information marked with (*) is required):
    1. Year (*): Choose the year of the payroll period. Select “Apply to Next Year” checkbox to apply the same parameter of the selected year to the next year. 
    2. Enable Charge Tax Type in One Month: Tick the box in this field to enable Charge Tax Type in One Month.
    3. Annualized Method (*):Choose the annualized method to calculate the salary. There are 2 options here:
      • Table Based: Users can choose Table Based if they want their income in a year is averaged
      • Last Pay: Meanwhile users can choose this instead if they want to count their income for a year based on the calculation of their last salary.
    4. Annualized Method (Company):Choose the annualized method by company to calculate the salary. The options are the same as Annnualized Method menu.
    5. Separate Period Finalized Tax Method (Company): Tick the box in this field to separate finalization period in Philippine.
    6. Gross Up Tax Calculation Method (Company): Tick the box to calculate the gross amount of a payment (that is, the before-tax value of a payment) where only the net amount (that is, the after-tax amount) is known and/or to increase the net amount of a payment to reach the gross amount.
    7. Individual Exemption (*): Input the total of free tax per individual in a year. 
    8. Married Exemption (*): Input the total of free tax per employee’s spouse in a year.
    9. Dependent Exemption (*):Input the total of free tax per individual’s dependent in a year.
    10. Maximum Dependent (*): Total of maximum dependent allowed in taxed income calculation.
    11. Bonus Exemption (*): Input the total number of employee bonus as part of the Tax parameter.
    12. Non Resident Alien Percentage (*): Input the percentage of the tax if this data belongs to the employee who is who is not a citizen of the Philippines and who is not a resident of the Philippines but deriving income as employee in the Philippines. For non-resident aliens not engaged in trade or business in the Philippines, the rate is a flat 25%.
